Guidance

We support children’s social, emotional and individual development through close family-school cooperation.

Guidance Service

What Does Our Guidance Service Do?

The preschool years are an important period when children’s social world expands beyond the family. Our Guidance Service works with teachers and families to support adjustment to school, self-awareness, emotional expression and healthy social relationships.

Adjustment to School & Environment

Supports children in becoming part of the classroom, building positive relationships, learning routines and acting independently.

Family & Community

Helps children recognize roles and responsibilities within family and society and develop a respectful, democratic attitude.

Self-Acceptance

Supports a positive self-image, awareness of strengths and recognition of individual differences.

Self-Expression

Provides safe opportunities to express wishes, feelings and thoughts appropriately.

Individual Planning

Observation, individual meetings and referrals are planned according to developmental needs.

Family Meetings

Children’s development is followed regularly through observation forms, developmental reviews and family meetings.

How Families Can Support School Adjustment

When starting school, children may react differently to separation, a new environment and new routines. A calm, consistent and reassuring family approach makes adjustment easier.

  • Use positive and realistic language about school.
  • Keep goodbyes short, clear and consistent.
  • Acknowledge your child’s feelings; do not dismiss their anxiety.
  • Stay in regular contact with the teacher and Guidance Service.
  • Remember that the adjustment process is different for every child.

Parent Education

As part of our guidance work, families receive informational meetings, individual consultations and parent-support content tailored to their needs throughout the year.
